Divorce

Someone sent me an article which essentially describe the seven things that you must not do should you get into a divorce situation.

Briefly, the seven are:

1. Forcing Your Kids to Take Sides

2. Using Your Attorney as a Therapist

3. Spending $10,000 to get $1,000

4. Taking a Laissez Faire Approach to Your Case

5. Refusing to Mediate

6. Demonizing Your Ex

7. Jumping into a Rebound Relationship

While I must admit that the article is very professionally written and make a lot of human sense, I am just so troubled by it.

Why? I just feel that discussion on divorce is a self fulfilling thing. The more we talk and think about it, the probability of it happening increases accordingly.

In our group, we literally ban the D word from the vocab of all the couples that came across our paths. There are many words that are banned in a marriage relationship but the highest in the list is definitely the D word.

I'd rather be focusing on the 1000 things that you must do to ensure a fulfilling, satisfying and happy lifelong partnership.

In any event, divorce should never be an option as a start. That's why we should do our very best to go into a marriage relationship prepared.
